• YouTube video transcripts: When you request a summary, the video's transcript (subtitles) is temporarily processed.
• Your Gemini API key: You enter your own API key, which is stored locally on your device.
• Cached summaries: Generated summaries are stored locally to avoid repeated requests.

3. How Data Is Used

• Video transcripts are sent to the Google Gemini API to generate summaries.
• Your API key is used solely to authenticate with the Google Gemini API.
• All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored exclusively locally on your device:

• No data is stored on our servers.
• No data is shared with third parties, except for the necessary communication with Google Gemini API to generate summaries.
• You can delete all stored data by removing the extension or clearing extension data in Chrome.

5. External Services

The Extension uses the following external service:

• Google Gemini API: Video transcripts are sent to this API for processing. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing. See: Google Privacy Policy

6. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does NOT collect:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email, etc.)
• Browsing history
• Location data
• Financial data
• Login credentials or passwords
• Analytics or tracking data

7. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• You can change or delete your API key at any time via the options page.
• You can clear all cached data by removing extension data.
• You can uninstall the extension at any time, which will delete all local data.

Your API key is securely stored in Chrome's local storage, which is only accessible to this extension. Communication with the Gemini API is conducted over secure HTTPS connections.
